Caiya Hanks, hailing from Kailua-Kona, HI, made her professional debut in March 2025 at 20 years old, after signing a four-year NWSL contract with the Portland Thorns, becoming the highest paid college player to enter the NWSL. This prolific forward had a historic 2024 campaign at Wake Forest University, leading the Demon Deacons in goals (11), assists (12) and points (34) on their path to the 2024 NCAA DI Women’s Soccer National Championship. Caiya was recognized as one of the country’s top female college soccer players and was a finalist for the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy. Her high-level talent and skill helped her earn other notable accolades in her three years at Wake Forest, including the 2024 All-ACC First Team, 2022 All-ACC Freshman Team and 2023 All-ACC Second Team.
