Amber Keegan is a Sheffield-based swimmer and multi-sport endurance creator whose content blends athlete storytelling, outdoor adventure, and advocacy for healthier sport environments. With a strong mix of performance, wellness, fashion, and climate/public-health awareness, she’s a compelling partner for brands wanting authentic reach in the active-lifestyle space.
Amber is a World Championship swimmer who is also currently studying a PhD to try and fund her swimming journey. She burst onto the junior scene in 2013, medalling at European Junior Championships and competing at the World Junior Championships. Amber faced more challenges than most in her journey to senior swimming, including a torn hamstring, shoulder injury, eating disorder and getting hit by a Land Rover. However, her local pools remaining shut throughout covid delayed her return to full competition until 2021. Amber’s comeback season (2021-22) was worth the wait. She swam faster than ever, winning two English titles, three British titles and a world rankings high of 15th. She also won international medals in pool and open water competitions, in her debut open water season. This season (2022-23), in her first ever 10 km race, a European Cup, she qualified for a World Cup. This race was the biggest ever World Cup field and Amber placed 20th (2 per nation), qualifying for the World Championships (July 2023, Fukuoka) where she will also make her commentating debut. Amber will also be competing at a host of European and World Cups this year, looking to climb the rankings towards the 2024 Olympic Games. Amber's tumultuous journey to success led to the realisation that the social power of athletes and sport means more than the medals. Amber founded a not-for-profit organisation, Athlete Interactions (AI), which works to reduce stigma and increase support for athletes with their mental health, from grassroots to elite level. Amber does other freelance speaking and writing engagements, focusing on increasing the participation of women and girls in sport. This year she has competed at least 8 international events on the calendar, and her reach is growing with her increasing international competition, both in person and online. She is most active on Instagram, and then LinkedIn, and has a high engagement rate.
