Lacey Henderson is a former elite track and field athlete and Paralympian whose story blends high-performance sport, resilience, and a compelling on-camera presence. Based in Denver, she brings an authentic mix of athletic credibility, lifestyle appeal, and broadcast-ready storytelling that makes her a strong fit for brands looking to reach engaged audiences through meaningful, personality-driven campaigns.
From a promising young athlete to a girl battling cancer at nine years old to an Olympic Games participant, Lacey Henderson’s story is one of maddening hardship, inspiring perseverance and overcoming adversity. After being diagnosed with cancer at nine years old, Lacey had her right leg amputated above the knee. She went on to receive a cheerleading scholarship to Division I University of Denver before becoming a long jumper for Team USA. Lacey is a six-time USA National Champion, the world record holder in the pole vault and the North American record holder in the long jump. Lacey also participated in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro as a Paralympic athlete. She recently won a silver medal at the 2019 PanAm Games in Peru and is currently training for the 2019 World Championships in Dubai and the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. In addition to being a world-class athlete, Lacey is a passionate advocate for health, fitness, nutrition, child advocacy and living one’s best life! She started working with teenagers with limb difference in 2010 and continues to use her athletic and social platform to normalize disability in society. In February, 2019, Lacey and DCP Entertainment will begin production on her podcast, PICKED LAST IN GYM CLASS, during which Lacey will talk about empowering women, maintaining a positive body image, and how successful people across athletics/music/culture/politics were able to overcome adversity to reach their potential.
