Charlene Lipsey is a professional track and field athlete who is sponsored by Adidas and represents team USA. From Hempstead, NY, Charlene received national attention her first year running. Though she started as a three sport dominate athlete (basketball, softball, and volleyball), in 10th grade, Charlene began running and focusing solely on track. She would run to the 3rd fastest high school time in the country, in addition to earning multiple New York State titles. After high school, Charlene transitioned to Lousiana State Unversity (LSU), where she would continue her success with the Lady Tigers, all while earning a degree in Elementary Education. While attending LSU Charlene became a 5-time All-American and 3-time SEC Champion. Since graduating LSU and entering her pro career Charlene has put together an impressive resume, including winning a gold medal in 2017 and breaking a WORLD record in 2018. She is a well rounded individual on and off the track. The Mayor of Hempstead decided to give Charlene the key to her city because she was so invested in her community and inspiring the youth.
