 Hello, my name is Brock Hoel, I’m 22 years old and I’m a Professional Triathlete currently racing as a member the Canadian National Team on the World Triathlon Series. I’ve been following this dream since I was 7 years old. It began with competitive swimming and triathlon club in the summers in a small town in Alberta. In 2014, at thirteen years old, my family moved to Kelowna British Columbia, and I began training with Luke Way. Luke is a former professional athlete himself and a physiology enthusiast. Together we devised a plan to have me racing with the best in the world. I have been working consistently for almost a decade, focused on turning every weakness into a strength, and paying attention to every detail including nutrition, sleep, technique, recovery, injury prevention, strategy, and mental strength. It has been successful, and at the end of August this year I was standing on the starting blocks at the Paris Olympic Test Event next to former Olympians, and the very best triathletes in the world! I am currently 53rd in the World Triathlon Championship Series ranking, and I’m just getting started. In this 2023 season, I am the youngest athlete in the world racing the World Triathlon Championship Series. Since spring, I have been in 3 WTCS breakaways, including at the Olympic Test Event in Paris. I have never been lower than 4th out of the water, including the fastest swim in the world at the World Sprint Triathlon Championships in Hamburg earlier this summer. I have just been selected for my first major Games where I will proudly be representing Canada at the Pan Am Games in Chile this November. I always race with everything that I have right from the gun. I aim to be the most exciting and versatile racer I can be, with the goal of being a World Champion and an Olympic medalist. I believe I can achieve both goals, because my coach and I consistently analyze exactly where I can improve, and I have made persistent improvements at every single event. I am inviting you to be a part of this journey and join me in taking over the endurance world one race at a time. With the racing style that I have, leading from the gun and giving everything that I’ve got, I get more camera time and name mentions during broadcast than most athletes, yet I am still without a brand name sponsor. Beyond being a fierce competitor, I see myself as community minded and value relationships above all, including my family, my teammates, my supporters, and my community. Being at the highest level of the sport has no value without the people and organizations that I cherish.
