Kimzey won an event-record-tying four rounds of the 2014 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, which secured him the average title and his place in history by becoming the second Rookie Bull-Rider in history to ever win a Gold Buckle (Bill Cornell 1963). His total NFR earnings in 10 days surpassed $175, 000, the highest of any NFR athlete in Las Vegas. For his outstanding performance during the 2014 finals, Sage Kimzey was awarded the Ram Truck Top Gun Award for his record-breaking​ earnings, placing his overall season earnings in 2014 over $300,000. Outside of the PRCA, he competes in the CBR (Championship Bull Riders) circuit, where he also won the World Title in 2014 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. His 2015 season was no different with wins at Rodeo Houston, the Calgary Stampede, the Pendleton Round-Up and more. By the time he finished his 2015 season, he became the only bull rider in history to win World Titles in both his Rookie and sophomore season. In 2016, Kimzey won San Antonio Rodeo, Rodeo Houston, The Pendleton Round-Up and many more. In 2017, Kimzey broke more records. He became the youngest millionaire in the sport of rodeo at the age of 22, then went on to win his second million with wins at The American, the Calgary Stampede, the CBR Finals, the PBR Velocity Finals and several other rodeos. His wins earned him his fourth PRCA World Title and his third CBR World Title. At the age of 23, Kimzey has won seven World Titles. He broke the single-season earnings record and won the PRCA World Title and Average Title, covering seven out of ten bulls and winning three rounds. Kimzey is a previous college rodeo athlete for Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he qualified twice for the College National Finals Rodeo for the Bulldogs with a fourth and second place finish his Freshman and Sophomore years. Kimzey believes in paying it forward. He is passionate about our military and has participated in numerous military-based charity campaigns. Kimzey also serves as an honorary board member for Bob Tallman Charity Foundation, which benefits MD Anderson and scholarship programs.
