 Pierre Andre Garçon, born August 8, 1986, is a wide receiver who plays in the National Football League. His career started with the Indianapolis Colts in 2008, where he made a name for himself catching passes from Peyton Manning. In 2012, Garcon moved on to the Washington Redskins, spending 5 years in DC before leaving via free agency and signing with the San Francisco 49ers. His career started in High School at John I. Leonard High School in Greenacres, Florida. There he played football, soccer and competed in track. Garçon began playing football his junior year, not even becoming a starter until his senior season. Garçon chose to attend Norwich University in 2004. He played in 10 games with 44 receptions for 1,017 yards and 13 touchdowns. His average of 101.7 yards per game receiving ranking him 14th in the nation. Wanting to play in more competitive division, Garçon transferred to Mount Union College in 2005. In three seasons at Mount Union, he guided the Raiders to a pair of DIII national titles. Garçon finished his career with 60 touchdown reception, ranking second in NCAA division III history and became just the sixth player in NCAA division III to gain over 4,000 receiving yards. With a stellar performance in the NFL Combine, Garçon gained the attention of multiple NFL scouts. He was later drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft with the 205th pick overall. Garçon worked his way up in the depth chart over three seasons with the Colts, eventually becoming a top threat at wide receiver. On March 13, 2012, Garçon signed a five-year contract with the Washington Redskins. Garçon was an instant threat in the Washington offense, leading the team in receptions in 2012 and 2013. During week 16 of the 2013 season Pierre set the Redskins franchise record for receptions in a single season. In 2015 after DeSean Jackson tore his hamstring, Pierre Garçon moved up to the #1 receiver slot with Kirk Cousins as the team's starting QB. In 2016 Pierre caught his 500th career reception. In 2017 he signed a 5 year contract with the 49ers.
