 Giovani Bernard was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and played running back collegiately at the University of North Carolina. He played at North Carolina for three years, redshirting his freshman year. He went on to win First-team All-ACC in 2011 and 2012 as well as ACC Offensive Player of the Year in 2012. Following North Carolina, Giovani was selected with the 37th pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2013 NFL Draft. In his rookie season he helped his team to an 11-5 record as well as finishing 2nd on his team in rushing, receptions and total yards. After a long and successful career with the Bengals, he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played for the final 2 seasons of his NFL career.
