Graham Mertz is a senior quarterback for the University of Florida Gators. He was a highly sought after recruit coming out of high school, being ranked as the number three quarterback in the 2019 recruiting class by 247 Sports. Mertz was also named the 2019 Gatorade National Player of the Year. Mertz attended Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, Kansas where he had a standout career. During his senior season, he completed 225 of his 309 passes for 3,886 yards and 60 touchdowns, while leading his team to a 10-3 record and a Kansas 6A state championship. He was also named a 2019 U.S. Army All-American and was selected to the 2019 All-USA Football Team. Since joining the Gators, Mertz has continued to impress. During his first game as a starter, he completed 20 of 21 passes for 248 yards and five touchdowns, setting a single-game record for touchdown passes. He has also been named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week for his performance. Mertz is looking to lead the Gators to new heights in the future, and it looks like he has the tools to do it.
