 Emily Renna was born and raised in Fairport, NY. She ran Divsion 1 collegiate track and field at the University of Rhode Island, specializing in the hurdles and where she also completed both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Exercise Science. Emily started working in the biotechnology industry after graduating in the Spring of 2017 and soon found herself longing for something to fill the void of college sports. In the Fall of 2019, Emily attended an in person Team USA bobsled combine in Park City, UT to try out for the US bobsled team. From there, she was invited to camp a month later to learn how to push a sled. Emily has been actively involved in competing for Team USA in Bobsled since then. To date, she's been on four World Cup teams, earning two world cup medals to date and finished sixth in the world in the two-woman World Championship event in 2024 with Olympic medalist, Elana-Meyers Taylor. She is currently competing in her fifth season of representing the red, white and blue. In addition, Emily has many years of experience working in clinical research, is also an advisory board member for a sports medicine biotech company (Temple Orthobiologics) and philanthropic non-profit, Athletes for Hope. In addition to training and science, Emily is an avid traveler who loves to experience other cultures and visit new places."
