Β Bobsleigh pilotΒ Kaillie HumphriesΒ is a duel citizen of USA & Canada. The most successful female bobsledder in history, as the woman with 5 World Championship titles and 3 Olympic Gold medals. She won the first ever womens Monobob Olympic Gold medal in 2022, cementing her name in the history books. The Olympic Champion in 2010 and 2014, she became the first and only female bobsledder to ever defend an Olympic title. Due to her repeat Olympic performance she was named flag bearer for the closing ceremonies at the 2014 Games for team Canada. With her Bronze medal addition from the 2018 Olympics she became the most decorated Canadian bobsledder in history, male or female. In 2014 Humphries became one of only two woman to pilot a mixed gender team in the first international 4-man World Cup bobsleigh competition, allowing women and men to participate in both events. This is significant as Kaillie had petitioned for years previous to allow the International Federation to open up the event for both genders (previously only ever offered to male athletes). Humphries became the first woman to drive an all-female team against men in a four-person World Cup bobsled race in 2016. She was instrumental in changing womenβs competition worldwide, and because of her efforts a new second event was added to the 2022 olympics. Fighting for equal opportunity has become a passion in her pursuit of greatness. She has since gone on to win the Olympic Gold medal in the brand new mononbob event, competing now for team USA. Kailllie changed nations in 2019 from team Canada to team USA due to the abuse and harassment she suffered from her former head coach. She stood up to a toxic culture and environment, which ultimately lead to this switch. She has fond memories of a 16 years career with Canada, but is empowered with team USA and looks forward to building on her legacy for the remainder of her career. In 2002 Humphries began her bobsleigh career as a brakeman, and was an alternate at the 2006 Winter Olympics. She changed positions in the sled becoming a driver during the 2006/07 season, after the heartbreaking disappointment of not competing in 2006. It would later be a blessing in disguise, as her previous knowledge of the sport and Olympics would allow for what some call a fast tracked career. Within 4 years of learning to drive she became Olympic Champion, something nobody else in the sport has ever done. Her name is now synonymous with the sport throughout the World. Her future goals include competing in the 2026 Olympics in both events that are now offered, looking to add to her already impressive medal count.
