Why you should sponsor my team for your next influencer campaign?

Dear Potential Sponsor As America struggles with systemic racial injustices, I wanted to take a minute to introduce you to Team Onyxhttp://team-onyx.com. Team Onyx is the first all African American multi-sport team to compete in Eco Challenge https://ecochallenge.com. The team is made up of a recorder breaking ultramarathoner, the first professional triathlete, a mountain guide, a former Navy Seal and other adventure athletes.  Last year, Team Onyx was the only all-African-American multi-sport team to compete on the international stage. With support from our sponsors we competed in Amazon Prime's Eco Challenge Fiji, which is expected to air later this summer as a 10-part series. Our participation changed the face of the race and we will be a featured part of the series. For a large part of the race, our team had a camera crew following us and we were mic'd for sound. While we can't share details, the experience was a good one, we were welcomed as part of the racing and outdoor community and we look forward to continuing to compete in international races, including the next Eco Challenge, as these events open back up (post social distancing). What's next? This is really a call to action in response to racial injustices in the United States. Team Onyx was first conceived 20 years ago when I first started participating in adventure and distance racing. My experiences when training and competing in races was of being an outsider at first and then, as people had an opportunity to see me in the light of friend, teammate and competitor, their narrative changed.  As leaders in the outdoor industry, you can be a part of changing this narrative for more people! Team Onyx is continuing our efforts to break down walls, change perspectives and build inclusion across sports like kayaking, trail running, mountain biking and climbing. While we have been very active in this work, we feel that we can and need to do more. With your support, we can. If you, like us, would like to shine a light on the values of diversity and inclusion in the areas that we're all passionate about, we would like to start a partnership with you. Let's make strides against racism by racing together! Our next steps are to identify how Team Onyx can show up in more races, taking advantage of our growing team.
