About Mike Matter — @alter_ego_running Team cross Country Running athlete

Mike Matter is a runner and running-team creator in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, with a profile centered on cross country and race-day coverage. He’s a strong fit for fitness, recovery, apparel, and endurance-sport campaigns that want authentic, community-driven content around the running lifestyle.

Why you should sponsor me for your next influencer campaign?

I have been active for most of my life, even though I tended to be one of the smaller guys throughout my school years. But that never stopped me from competing in anything I set out to do. I became a runner after high school, and have continued to participate in my running lifestyle for the past 30 years, with every distance run from the mile to the marathon completed. I have always been an active person and have always wanted to be challenged and find the best ways to challenge my physical limits. In the past few years I have become a devoted member of the Obstacle Course Racing community, so I can become a much more rounded athlete in all areas. With the OCR community growing so rapidly, I thought it would be one of the best areas to not only maintain my fitness level, but to raise it to even higher levels I would have never thought possible for me before. This enabled me to complete one of the goals of many OCR racers, the Spartan Trifecta (a Sprint, Super and Beast within the racing year) twice. I was also ranked in the top 10 for my age group during the 2012 Spartan racing season. I continue to compete in any obstacle race so I can continue my OCR lifestyle. And now that I have raced in OCR for such a long time, I now and am now always looking to help out any person that wants to begin their fitness journey within the OCR community. Since I have been lucky enough to experience meeting and racing with such great people, I want to share my experiences with others that want to join the racing community, whether it be running, OCR or any of the fitness choices that they choose. I love being out on the course and being able to help anyone that may have doubts about themselves, whether it be physical or mental. No one can be stopped when they have the proper training and mindset, and I strive to help any athlete achieve that level.
