At the age of 15, I started mountain biking. I started to take part in races from March 21st,2013. It was 3rd National downhill championship in Nepal. It was my first race and I learnt many important things from our seniors riders. I secured 13th place out of 19 riders. I used to had a indian metal bike called ‘Oscar’. I used to customized my bike by myself trying to make it as downhill bike. My name is Suman Tamang. I was born in 10th June,1997. My discipline is Mountain Biking Downhill. I am son of Lal Bahadur Tamang and Shanti Tamang. I have a sibling his name is Sohan Tamang. I am 22 years old. I am a student and doing my bachelor at Public Youth Campus. I was born and raised in Lalitpur, Kathmandu. Economic background of my family is not good so I was not able to buy a proper mtb bike. But I enjoyed a lot with my metal bike. After that I used to save my lunch box’s money for a good bike. But still I didn’t have enough money to buy a new one. But i used to spent those money in upgrading the bike. After that I thought about making my indian bike into a downhill bike by wielding and adding stuffs on it. I wielded it and put the rear suspension one from motorbike. It seems like downhill bike but it does not work properly. It was not working like downhill bike because of lack of essential bike parts. Before I began riding, I only knew a few riders. When I met a rider we rarely had meaningful chats about what it means to ride. It’s simple really, unless you ride, its difficult to understand why riders choose to ride. Now I am a professional mountain bike downhill rider. I have raced Downhill and Enduro races in Nepal, China, Singapore and India. July 19th,2015, in India i went for my first international race and I secured 2nd place in it. There were 20 riders from different countries. And I was very happy that my hard work, dedication and determination took me in such position. I am national downhill champion of Nepal 2019. I have been mountain biking since 5 years. I was unknown about mountain biking at first but gradually I am being close to mountain biking and now I am a professional mountain biking rider of Nepal. There is a big hand of my parent’s, friends and my supporters who supports me in every situation. My parents didn’t stop me to do Downhill mountain biking though its one of the risky and dangerous sport in the world. And its expensive sport too but my parents supports me as much they can afford.

Genisys Credit Union, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, has done something most brands never do with athlete sponsorship: it kept renewing. What started as a single partnership with Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta has become a multi-year, two-athlete program that Genisys has renewed and expanded every season since 2024, adding Lions wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa in 2025 and renewing him again in 2026.
