My name is Ottilie Robinson-Shaw. I am 21, from England and a 5 x Freestyle Kayaking World Champion and White Water athlete. Last year I made history becoming the first senior freestyle kayaking athlete to win three International Canoe Federation (ICF) World Championships titles at a single event, setting a new high record in each discipline, scoring more than the men in one category and within the top 5 in the other two. This was a special World Championships as I got to compete at home at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. My goal is to be one of the best kayakers on the planet, regardless of gender and to push the women’s sport to an entirely new level. Currently I spend my life focussing on kayaking, strength training and conditioning to keep me on top form. However in a self-funded sport I need the support from companies in exchange for content and promotion in order to continue pushing what is possible for female athletes.
