I’m Merle Long, a professional slalom kayaker and kayak cross specialist, competing on the world stage. In 2024, I boast a top 2 finish in a Prague ICF Ranking Race in Kayak Cross and made the finals in Slalom Kayaking at the 2024 Junior World Championships. I train full-time in Australia, preparing for upcoming team selections in January and working toward my long-term goal of competing at the Olympic Games. Kayak Cross is a new and exciting sport, having its olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Olympic games where my training partner (Noamie Fox) won the gold.
