 I’m Ethan Westera, a professional windsurfer from Aruba, and I’m on a mission to make history. Growing up on the beaches of Aruba, I fell in love with windsurfing at an early age, and it’s shaped my life ever since. From becoming the 2016 PWA Youth Slalom World Champion to winning the IFCA Slalom World Championship in 2017, I’ve proven my dedication and ability to compete at the highest level. In 2021, I launched my Olympic campaign with one goal: to qualify for Paris 2024. Through consistent top-20 finishes, a World Cup victory, and hard work, I made it to Paris and finished 8th overall, earning the first-ever Olympic diploma for Aruba. Along the way, I also won Aruba’s first Pan American Games silver medal and podiumed at multiple international events.
