Gillian Sanders is a 3 x Olympian having represented South Africa in triathlon in London 2012, Rio 2016 & Tokyo 2020. After competing internationally in age group and junior competition Sanders put her triathlon career on hold whilst studying law at Stellenbosch University, where she competed as a 1500m runner. She resumed triathlon competition after graduating, combining it with legal work. Sanders chose to focus on full-time competition at the end of 2011. After just 18 months as a pro athlete, she qualified for the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Gillian resides in London, UK & holds dual South African & British citizenship.
