Francesca Clapcich (born 28 January 1988 in Trieste) is an Italian sports sailor. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's Laser Radial class, finishing in 19th place. At the 2016 Olympics, she competed in the women's 49erFX class, finishing in 5th place. She is the first italian (male or female) to have won The Ocean Race , race around the world. She is now the first ever female skipper in the Ocean Fifty class with the Upwind project, focusing on bringing more women into the professional side of the sport, with more equality and equity. Her long term goal is to race in the Vendee Globe 2028 and becoming the first italian female sailor to race around the world solo.
