Antrel Rolle is a former defensive back who played for the Arizona Cardinals, New York Giants, and the Chicago Bears. Prior to the NFL, Rolle played for the University of Miami from 2001-2004 under coach Larry Coker, where he was recognized as an Unanimous All-American. The Miami-Dade County local would start for Miami all 4 years, winning a BCS Championship in 2001 while being named First-team All-Big East in 2002, First-Team All-ACC in 2004, Unanimous All-American in 2004, and the 2004 Jack Tatum Trophy winner for best collegiate defensive back. Rolle went on to be drafted in the 1st round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals as the 8th overall pick. Rolle played for the Arizona Cardinals from 2005- 2009, being named to his first Pro Bowl in 2009 while assisting the Cardinals’ defense in a wild card victory over the Green Bay Packers before getting knocked out in the NFC divisional round. On March 5th, 2010 Rolle was signed by the NY Giants making him the highest paid safety in the league. Rolle would play starting safety for the Giants from 2010-2014. As a defensive threat at safety, Rolle was named to his second straight Pro-Bowl in 2011 finishing the 2010 NFL season with 87 combined tackles, four pass deflections, and an interception in 16 games and 16 starts. In 2011 the Giants finished atop the NFC East clinching a Wild Card berth, before running the table and defeating the New England Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI. Rolle would make the Pro Bowl once again in 2013 after completing the season with 98 combined , 12 pass deflections, six interceptions, and two sacks in 16 games and 16 starts. He set career-highs in four statistical categories. Rolle would be traded to the Chicago Bears following the 2014 season in New York. Here he played one season before retiring on November 7, 2016.
