Beginning Martial Arts from a young age, Dvalishvili trained in traditional wrestling, transitional fighting, sambo, and judo for self defense. When the Georgian turned 21 he decided he was going to train full time to become a professional martial artist and moved to New York to train with Matt Serra and Ray Longo at Serra-Longo Fight Team. He signed his first contract with the UFC at his Ring of Combat bout in 2017 and was featured on Dana White’s Looking for a Fight along side one of his coaches Hall of Fame’s Matt Serra. Merab is also a black belt in Judo and currently owns the second place title in The World Combat Sambo Championship of 2019.
