Β The 'All-American' currently fights for the UFC and held their Middleweight Championship belt for two and a half years. He grew up in the Long Island area and is still located there with his wife and three children. Before becoming a UFC fighter Weidman wrestled at Hofstra College, becoming a two time Division I All-American and placing third at the NCAA Tournament his senior year. Chris Originally won the UFC championship by being the first person to defeat Anderson Silva inside the UFC Octagon (which he did twice). He did this nearly a year out of competition due to injury and Hurricane Sandy which had severely damaged his home. He subsequently volunteered to help rebuild Sandy victims' homes via the non-profit group 'Staten-Strong'. Since making his UFC debut in 2011, Chris has become a fan favorite and is still going strong.
