 I am a recent college graduate. I received my Master of Science in Communication and Information from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. I am currently a professional track and field athlete that is apart of the Nike training group called Star Athletics. I would love to have more sponsorships that will give me more opportunities for addition source of income that will allow me to continue training for the sport I love. In addition, I am passionate about is female empowerment through sports. I've been involved in sports my entire life, so I've always been an advocate for women in sport. Women's participation in sports is an important social and economic empowerment tool because it helps women acquire new professional networks, develop a sense of identity and access new opportunities to become more engaged in school and community life. In addition, sports serve as a way to improve women’s leadership roles and participation in decision-making. Overall, studies have shown that women who play sports are increasingly likely to excel on both the playing field and in life.
