My name is Joel Murray, I’m from Rowlett, TX, and I’m the starting point guard for Long Beach State’s Men’s Basketball team. As an undersized guard, I have long been overlooked, but I’ve used that as fuel to drive my hunger to be great. I started my collegiate career at Division 2 West Texas A&M, with whom I shared great success: Division 2 National Title Game, 2x All-American, 2x 1st Team All-Conference. Following West Texas, I made the unlikely jump up to Division 1, and transferred to LBSU. In my first year at LBSU, I helped lead our team to its first Big West Conference Title since 2013 and earned 1st team All-Conference honors. Next season, I hope to repeat the same success while clinching a NCAA tournament birth. Beyond basketball, I am a civil engineering major. I have a passion for interior design and architecture, and I would like to start my own construction business when my playing career is over. In my downtime, I love to read, listen to podcasts, and trade crypto/stocks.
