Delanie Walker is a 3x Pro Bowl tight end for the Tennessee Titans. Delanie spent the first seven years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, winning the NFC Championship with the 49ers in 2012. Delanie starts as a tight end, but in the 49ers’ West Coast-style offense, he was used in a variety of ways, including as a fullback, a slot receiver and a kickoff returner and gunner on special teams. On March 12, 2013, Delanie signed a four-year contract with the Tennessee Titans. His first two seasons in Tennessee arguably resulted in the best back-to-back campaigns in franchise history by a player at his position. From 2013 through 2014, Walker totaled 123 receptions for 1,461 yards and 10 touchdowns. Among all Titans/Oilers tight ends, only Frank Wycheck recorded more total receiving yards in back-to-back years. Walker’s 890 receiving yards in 2014 were the most in franchise history by a tight end, and his 63 receptions ranked fourth in club annals among tight ends. In 2014, Walker’s team-leading 890 receiving yards set a career high and marked the highest total in franchise history by a tight end, eclipsing Frank Wycheck’s 768 receiving yards in 1998. Walker’s 63 receptions in 2014 also led the team and set a career high. It was the 2015 season that set Walker among the upper-echelon of NFL tight ends. During the 2015 season, Delanie shattered all Titans records for a tight end, including 1,088 yards receiving. Walker led all NFL tight ends with 94 receptions, and became only the ninth tight end to ever record 90+ catches in a single season. His e orts were rewarded with a trip to his rst Pro Bowl. Originally from, Pomona, he was chosen as an All-Division and All-San Gabriel Valley selection as a senior at Pomona High School. Delanie enrolled at Mt. San Antonio Community College where he was named as one of the country’s top 101 junior college players in the country in 2003. Delanie later played football for the University of Central Missouri. At UCM, Delanie made 113 receptions for 1.347 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was named to the All-Region team as a junior and earned second team All-Mid America Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors both as a receiver and as a kickoff returner. Delanie was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. On Feb. 14, 2015, Walker was inducted into the Central Missouri Athletic Hall of Fame.
