Dana Mathewson is a 2x Paralympian, Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Quarterfinalist, & 2022 Wimbledon Ladies' Doubles Champion (with previous doubles partner Yui Kamiji). At the age of 10, Dana Mathewson was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, which left her paralyzed from the waist down. At 13, she was introduced to wheelchair tennis and fell in love with the sport instantly. Dana has been a member of Team USA since 2009 and represented her country at several world championships as well as Rio 2016 & Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Dana is the first American woman wheelchair tennis player to win a Grand Slam title and is the first and only American woman to compete in the wheelchair tennis category of all Slams. Outside of tennis, Dana has always valued the importance of education and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Arizona where she played DI collegiate wheelchair tennis and recently earned her AuD Degree in Clinical Audiology. Dana recognizes the influence of her platform: She is a board member of the AAPI Tennis Association to help grow Asian- American participation in tennis and has been a volunteer coach at various tennis clinics, including the Veterans Hospital in San Diego. She mentors several up-and-coming juniors on tour and volunteers at the USTA National Campus when possible. She is a dog mom and is getting married to her fiance, Dristin, in December 2023. Paris 2024 will be her third Games.
