The Bulldogs - Wingate University's NCAA Women and Club Men Triathlon Team - achieved outstanding successes in their inaugural Fall 2021 season. The women took 2nd place in the DII National Championships in Tempe, AZ on November 13th. Finja Schierl took the individual title and lead the team to this outstanding performance. On the mens side, the Team can look back on multiple top10s in the Conference Championships as well as podium finishes in smaller events. Moreover, the team already organized a home race - the Bulldogs Duel vs defending the National Champions from Queens University at Charlotte. Our fast growing team is composed of 8 women and 8 men from 7 different nations. To accomplish our ambitious goals, we need your support. Specifically, we are targeting funds to acquire team bikes to provide spares during events or emergencies, and/or equip student-athletes new to the draft-legal format. For example, we recently had an athlete go a week without a bike prior to the Conference Championships because he had a frame break and we didn't have a backup option. This will be a long-term project so any amount will help as we build up a support structure for the Bulldogs.
