 Wendi Nix joined ESPN in August 2006 as a host and reporter. She appears on ESPN networks year round hosting weekday editions of NFL Insiders and NFL Live and segments on Sunday NFL Countdown. She also contributes to ESPN’s annual coverage of Super Bowl week and the NFL Draft. Prior to joining ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, Nix hosted ESPN’s pre-, halftime and post-game segments on college football Saturdays from 2010-13. She also hosted editions of College Football Live for six years and served as a reporter on College GameDay for five years. In 2009, Nix hosted the Monday Night Football “Chalk Talk” luncheon programs, which showcased the teams and host cities participating in the weekly MNF primetime games and honored local civic and community leaders. Additionally, Nix has hosted Baseball Tonight and served as a reporter for Sunday Night Baseball. She also covered the U.S. Open golf tournament from 2007 through 2010, as well as the Masters and British Open tournaments in 2010. In January 2009, Nix became the first woman to serve as the master of ceremonies at the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America awards dinner to honor the division 1A college football player of the year. Nix came to ESPN from NBC affiliate WHDH-TV in Boston, where she spent three years as a sports anchor and reporter. Prior to joining WHDH-TV in June 2003, she was a national sports reporter for FOXSports and an anchor-reporter for FOXSports New England for two years. Nix also reported and anchored for the New England Sports Network (NESN) for a year starting in 2001. Her television career began at ABC affiliate WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C., in 1999, where she covered NASCAR and high school sports in addition to news. A native of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Nix was a captain of the golf team at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., for two years, where she earned degrees in French and Economics in 1996. She earned a master’s degree in sports management at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1997.
