Tamara Schoen (formally Statman), current Israeli National Softball Team member has had a busy past two years. In 2020 she wrote The Real Deal Student Athlete Success Kit and created The Running Poles Podcast (which just signed to a podcasting network). A graduate of the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Political Science. During her softball career at Arizona, she had 10 career homers and 100 hits. She was Arizona’s first Academic All-American (2019) since 2010 and was a two-time first-team Pac-12 all-academic honoree. Along with softball, other activities include west coast swing dance. She is also an advocate for the Jewish community and has spoken about “peace and sport” on multiple occasions. Schoen is now a modern Orthodox Jew and got married in May 2021.
