ย Samyr Laine is a Haitian-American triple jumper who excels on and off the field. After attending Harvard University and then The University of Texas for a masters degree, he competed around the globe as a professional track and field athlete while earning his law degree from Georgetown University; qualifying for the Olympic Games in the process. Since making his first international appearance for Haiti at the 2007 Pan American Games, Samyr has been to six world championships, two more Pan American Games and competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics (where he advanced to the finals and finished 11th), all while completing law school, studying for and passing the bar exam, authoring two books and founding a non-profit organization. Samyr has spent years ranked among the top ten in world and would like to share his story of achievement and teach others how to follow and achieve their dreams, and be great while doing so.
