Established in 1903 by Dr. Louis J Cooke, the team quickly asserted its dominance by clinching the Big Ten Team Title in its inaugural year. Over the course of a century, the Gophers have secured the Big Ten Team Title 21 times and earned runner-up status 17 times, solidifying their position as a powerhouse in collegiate gymnastics. Throughout its storied journey, the team has been an integral part of Minnesota Athletics, thriving on the Twin Cities campus and actively contributing to the community that has supported them. Embodying resilience and determination, the team showcased their athletic prowess in the 2021 season, finishing fifth in the nation and achieving the highest GPA among all men's programs at the University. Noteworthy achievements extend beyond the competition floor, as standout gymnast Shane Wiskus made history by earning a spot on the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team.
