 Athletic Description: I am an All American triathlete and has competed with Team USA at the triathlon world championships and at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. I am also the Head Coach of the Wagner College Women's Triathlon Team (NCAA Division 1). Before I discovered triathlon I was a Division 1 Swimmer at Boston College. I have aspirations of earning my professional/elite license in triathlon. Professionally, I am the Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Code Nation, a national nonprofit that equips students in under-resourced schools with the fundamental coding skills and professional experiences that together create access to careers in technology. I've grown Code Nation from an idea to a National nonprofit that serves thousands of students across the country, employs 36 people full-time on a $6m annual budget (fundraised year over year). For my work with Code Nation, I have been honored as an IgniteGood/Huffington Post Millennial Impact Fellow, an Ashoka Emerging Innovator, a Catalyst by the City of New York, a NY Business Journal Woman of Influence, and Aspen Institute Scholar and was named as one of seven millennials “too busy changing the world to take selfies.” I've also been a featured speaker at the United Nations Conference on Women and at TedXNYCEd. In 2006, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College, graduating cum laude with a major in Philosophy and a minor in American Studies (Concentration in Inequality in America). While an undergraduate at BC, I spent a year abroad in England at Oxford University, Mansfield College where I studied philosophy and politics as part of a visiting student program. I completed course work in Urban Education at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education and earned a Certificate of Business Excellence from Columbia University's Graduate school of business for an Executive Education course in nonprofit management.
