Matthew Montgomery Barkley (born September 8, 1990) is an American football quarterback for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at USC, where he set the Pac-12 season record for touchdown passes as a junior. Due to suffering a shoulder injury in his senior season, he was not selected until the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Barkley has been a member of seven different teams, mostly as a backup. His most notable stint was with the Chicago Bears, where he served as the team's starter in 2016.
