 I, Grace McKenzie, am much more than just my sport, my stats, my numbers. I am an athlete, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a teacher, a survivor, and so much more! I want to take all of these amazing life lessons I’ve had, and bring/expand a team with me along the way! • Irish National Record Holder in the Pentathlon • 6 x College Record Holder at McNeese State • University (Heptathlon, Pentathlon, 400 meter hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump) • Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology • Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology • Master’s Degree in Health & Human Promotion • Sports and Health Advocate! I am a 24 year old Irish athlete. When I was 16 I suffered from a venous sinus thrombosis (blood clot) that threatened my life and left me with long term epilepsy, and after that event, I decided I would never take my health, determination, and life for granted ever again! With that, I moved to Louisiana when I was 17 with a dream to become an All-American and compete on the highest level in Track & Field. In college I fulfilled that dream of becoming an All-American, in both the Pentathlon and Heptathlon, while breaking barriers and records along the way, also while attaining a competitive education! I recently packed up my bags and committed to a leap of faith once again, by moving my Athletic and Professional career to California to both train and teach! My goal is to represent Ireland at the 2022 World Championships, and to train for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games! I believe I am the perfect individual to sponsor because I am passionate not only about my own sport, but all of the scientific intricacies of sport also! I thoroughly believe I was just beginning to scratch the surface of my athletic and professional potential in college, and I think the only way from there is up for me, particularly in the new setting I have created for myself. I am an enthusiastic, loyal, and hard working individual, that gives their all to every aspect of life. I love seeing those around me succeed! My success is the success of those around me, I am a firm believer in the saying that “it takes a village”, and I would love the opportunity to grow mine!
