 Calvin Austin III is a sensational athletic talent who starred in football and track for the University of Memphis. Since stepping onto campus in 2017, Calvin has been a total superstar in both of his chosen sports. During his sophomore football season, Calvin was part of the 2019 AAC Champion Tigers squad in what would only be a preview of things to come for this future star. Embodying the true Memphis grit n'grind attitude, Calvin played his first two seasons with the Tigers as a walk-on, and was awarded a scholarship heading into his third year. His junior season was one of the best in program history as Calvin led the conference in both receiving yards and TD's while helping the Tigers to an 8-3 record and a win in the Montgomery Bowl. He excelled both on and off the field as he was named to the Academic Honor-Roll four times as a junior and finished in the top 10 nationally for receiving yards and TD's. In his senior season, Calvin burst into the national spotlight and solidified himself as one of the best WR prospects of the 2022 NFL Draft. With some of the top receiving performances in all of college football, he eclipsed the 100 yard receiving mark six times this season (second year in a row) including reaching 200 yards twice. He set his career high with 239 receiving yards and three TD's against Arkansas State which earned him multiple weekly awards including AAC Player of the Week honors. Once again, Calvin lead the American Conference in both receiving yards and TD's and received an invite to the Reese's Senior Bowl, the top event for NFL draft prospects. During the NFL Combine, Calvin set the field ablaze with a 4.32 40-Yard Dash Time, and top three finishes among WRs in other testing events. Calvin was drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
