About Brett Barley — O'Neill surfing athlete

Brett Barley is a pro surfer and family-focused creator from Buxton, North Carolina, known for high-energy surf content, authentic coastal storytelling, and a strong connection to the ocean lifestyle. With a loyal audience built around surfing, fishing, and adventure, he’s a natural fit for brands looking to reach engaged outdoor and action-sports fans in a credible, down-to-earth way.

Why you should sponsor me for your next influencer campaign?

I was born and raised in Buxton, North Carolina. From a pretty young age I started pursuing professional surfing, and officially went “Pro” when I graduated High School… I got married to my wife Casey Barley at the age of 19, had our son Masen when I was 22, and our daughter Malia when I was 25. I’ve spent my life traveling the world chasing surf, but I’m more of a homebody than most any other pro surfer. I'd rather be at home with my family and friends scoring waves, but that doesn't deter me from saying yes to any surf trip and hopping on a grueling 60hr adventure in search of good waves. --------------- I’ve been video editing since I was 12, and went from making occasional surfing edits to running a weekly Vlog series on YouTube that I started back in March 2018, now called “Life On Water.” In 2013 I began self documenting using GoPros and a Soloshot camera, thus creating a niche around my career that involved more than just performing on my surfboard. I began fishing in 2012 and spend any free time I can taking the family out on the water to catch dinner, when we are not surfing, or I'm not editing. --------------- I've been using video and still cameras for over 15yrs, editing with the latest software for the same time, and have shot product videos for companies from Sea-Doo to O'Neill Clothing to Lunkerhunt Fishing. I run all my social media, with the desire to be transparent with my followers, share the adventures I get to go on, and promote the companies that help support me along the way.
