Amobi Okugo is a former professional soccer player turned CEO, entrepreneur, media host, and philanthropist. He has been recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree. Drafted in the first round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft from UCLA, Amobi Okugo has since played in over 200 competitive games for teams including Philadelphia, Orlando, Kansas City, Portland, and Austin. He was a mainstay for the U.S. youth national team (USMNT) from U-14 to U-23, competing in the 2012 Olympic qualifying cycle among other international tournaments. He is the founder of A Frugal Athlete, an online financial media platform promoting prudent financial practices and smart career decisions for professional and student athletes. A Frugal Athlete essentially helps athletes make, manage, and multiply their money through financial education and athlete empowerment. Amobi is a founder or partner in multiple other ventures, including Serve Consulting and 2Cents FC. Amobi Okugo founded The Ok U Go Foundation to provide resources and opportunities to children from low-income backgrounds through athletic, educational, and social programs. Outside of his business ventures, Amobi enjoys hiking, flying his drone, hosting trivia nights, reading, watching the latest shows, and hanging out with family and friends.
