American Cricket Academy (ACA) began in the summer of 2015. Our goal is to build a proud tradition of developing not just the best youth cricket program in the USA but to also develop the athletes into productive citizens. Our Academy has three main pillars Character (Servant leadership, teamwork, discipline) Community (Serving others, humility, and sacrifice) Cricket (play the right way - with class) When addressing character we decided to give the athletes opportunities to show servant leadership through mentoring and assigning them various responsibilities. They take ownership of their actions and put others first. This is further reinforced by our community pillar. In teaching our athletes about community we want them to reach beyond the cricket community and become involved within the entire metropolitan area. To do this and to further the character pillar ACA is highly involved with community service. Our ACA families do a minimum of one service project a month, We are proud to say we have not just our athletes, but also their families involved in each project, all these experiences and learning helping our families to connect with different communities. Another way we regard community is by reaching within our own community. We believe strongly that ACA is not built on a foundation of one or two people, but by a strong foundation of all families involved in our academy. We expect all of our families to be involved in the day to day running of the academy. We recognize that not all parents are comfortable in a coaching role, but have many other gifts. What is truly amazing to us is that we rarely have to ask a family to become involved, and they work together to the betterment of all When it comes to our cricket pillar, this is another that ties to the character. So often in youth sports we witness less than stellar behavior from the athletes, coaches, and parents. It is emphasized many times over in our academy that everyone is to conduct themselves with class. This means working hard on and off the field, conducting in positive ways and respecting each other and the teams and families we interact with. American Cricket Academy started with seven athletes and now has grown to more than 150 athletes. We have conducted various introductory and High-performance camps, presented to over 1200 PE teachers, and over 2000 students through teacher development, state conventions, school presentations and assemblies, and reached out to various civic and government organizations to help spread the spirit of cricket throughout the state of Missouri. We have brought up youth and adult cricket under one umbrella in Metro St. Louis. American Cricket Academy and Club manage multiple cricket leagues around the year - Major Cricket League, Major Tennis Cricket League, Major Women's Cricket League, Minor Cricket League. American Cricket Academy hopes to inspire the spirit of cricket to be more than cricket.
