 Aikikai Aikido Dulwich is a Private Limited Company by guarantee without share capital use of 'Limited' exemption. The objects of the Ltd. by guarantee are for the public benefit, the education of people in the martial arts, more specifically in aikido, regardless of age, gender, race and financial background. We are located in London United Kingdom. We are looking for sponsors for the day to day running of the club. We want to create a club where the members don't need to spend money on membership, insurance and licence for martial arts, equipments, seminars. We believe that teaching and sharing should be free to everyone regardless of their background. But we understand that in todays world it is a big challenge. We will work hard to make our believes a reality and bring physical and mental wellbeing to the general public so a healthy population will insure a proper, better environment for the next generation. We very much believe that the change in the world is starts with every individuals. We would like to help anyone who is interested in their personal wellbeing. There is a lot of discussion about the "effectiveness" of Aikido, especially when compared to other forms of martial arts. It seems to me that the focus of comparison is always regarding of what you can do to others from the point of reference of control and martial application or "effectiveness" of technique and NOT from what the practice of Aikido actually does to you internally and externally as a life changing discipline. Aikido is not a combat sport designed for fighting and competition, it is a practice of harmonizing energy within yourself, others and the world. And in other to do that, we must become flexible, adaptable, empty and leave fear, ego and desire to control others behind. A practice that will transform you and will develop your evolution as a human being.
