As long as I can remember I have always been a thrill seeker. The majority of my childhood was spent finding the steepest hill to ride my bike down, the highest cliff to dive from and dreaming of becoming a jet fighter pilot like my grandfather. Through this I discovered that speed was at the core of satisfying my inner adrenaline junkie. Like other kids I played soccer and baseball but sports were never fast enough for me. That changed however, one fateful day in the spring of 2001 when my parents signed me up for a discover luge camp at Canada Olympic Park. What they thought would be a simple afternoon of having me out of their hair resulted in the most defining moment of my life. Throughout the following years the desire to be the best in the world matched my passion for speed and that combination made me a three time Olympian that was an integral part of winning Canada's first ever Olympic silver medal in the sport of luge.
