About the Reds: The Rhode Island Reds franchise was established in 2012 as a semi-professional men's soccer team competing in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The name Rhode Island Reds is modeled after the state bird of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Red. The crest, designed with heavy ties to the state and flag, features a Rhode Island Red surrounded by thirteen gold stars to symbolize Rhode Island becoming the thirteenth state in the union. The stars are linked by two rings which symbolize the Reds core values, commitment, and pride. The crest also features an anchor an integral part of Rhode Island, which symbolizes hope. The club colors are red, royal blue, and gold.
