Manchester Giants is an iconic sporting brand that dates back to the 1970s and plays in the British Basketball League, the top level professional league in the UK. Games take place on Friday evenings (7.30pm tip-off) and Sundays (5.00pm tip-off) between September and April. Now heading towards its seventh season since returning in 2011, the old Giants famously played at the MEN Arena in the 1990s drawing a British record basketball crowd of 14,251. Currently playing home games at Trafford Sportsdome, the Giants will move to its own facility from the 2019-20 season at the site of the George H Carnall Leisure Centre in Urmston. This will provide a home not only for the club’s professional team, but for its growing junior national league basketball and netball teams, community programmes, back-room staff and club shop.
