Kyle Demelo’s already mastered some of the hardest tricks in freestyle motocross, and most of them he’s taught himself, by trial and error. It helps that he has a 50-acre playground, including a foam pit, jumps, and a track, all of which he built himself on his parents’ ranch in Oliver, in British Columbia, Canada. Kyle started riding at the age of three, and he got into racing bikes as a teenager. By the time he was 15, he had built a series of jumps on his parents’ property, and from there he found his niche with freestyle motocross. He took fourth place at an American Freestyle Motocross Association competition in California and then snagged a coveted invite to spend a week learning new tricks at the Red Bull compound. With help from guys like Travis Pastrana and Nate Adams, he’s mastered backflip combos, flairs, and more. You’ll see Kyle lighting up the podium at Night of the Jumps, X Games, Red Bull X-Fighters, and many other events. “I just want to keep learning new tricks,” Kyle says, “and having fun in the process.”
