Ben Dixon is a versatile Fox Sports presenter and a popular choice for viewers with his relaxed yet insightful work as an AFL boundary rider, expert analyst and host. Ben Dixon’s hosting prowess has been demonstrated on such Fox Footy programs as; Insider, Super Coach, Weekend Lowdown and First Crack. His match day work combines his in depth knowledge and understanding of the game with his personable and humorous character, making him a well-rounded presenter. Dixon commenced his role at Fox Sports in 2011 though was no stranger to the media having frequently appeared in AFL programs whilst playing at the highest level. His coveted career with the Hawthorn Football Club saw him play over 200 games for the Brown and Gold between 1995 – 2007. Dixon was a key forward for the Hawks and with 282 career goals he is one of Hawthorn’s top goal kickers of all-time. In the final years of his playing career Dixon completed his level 2 coaching qualifications, while also appearing regularly on Fox Sports News providing him options to explore a career in media or coaching upon retirement. Dixon was presented with the opportunity to continue his career with the Hawthorn Football Club as a Development Coach in 2008 where he stayed until the end of the 2010 season. He later went on to take up coaching roles at the Collingwood Football Club in 2016 and the St Kilda Football Club in 2018 and 2019 as a goal-kicking coach. While Dixon’s coaching career was gaining momentum he also maintained his media work and his entrepreneur aspirations. Dixon was the co-founder of the nationwide school holiday youth training camp DraftStar. This along with his likeable presenting style made him an obvious choice as a panellist on Future Stars for the Nine Network showcasing the young up and coming talent in the now NAB cup league. His media roles also included presenting on the Foxtel Cup for Fox Sports, boundary riding for AFL Nation radio and most notably the role of Assistant and Fitness Coach on the AFL’s first reality TV show; The Recruit which aired on Foxtel in 2014 & 2015. Still the businessman, Dixon recently co-founded the influencer platform Vello whereby he has recently taken on the role as the CEO.
