Old Georgian Club is an Argentine sports club located in Palermo, Buenos Aires. Founded in 1908 by alumni of St. George's College of Quilmes, the club is a pillar of Buenos Aires' British community. It has provided Argentina's national rugby team with some great talents during it's glorious years. In 1937, 1938 and 1939, Old Georgian rugby club won the Buenos Aires' ruby union tournament. During WWII, many of it's players departed from Buenos Aires to fight for Great Britain. A lot of them made the ultimate sacrifice. This lead to the club shutting down it's sport activities due to the lack of players. In 2011 a group of students decided that the club should start competing again, and started disputing the local under 16s tournament. Today, 7 years later, the club has over 200 rugby players. Last year it disputed the URBA's 1st XV tournament for the first time since it had abandoned rugby in 1978. The team achieved an exceptional season, losing only one match and moving up to the 2nd division which will be disputed on 2018's season. The club's objectives for 2018 are: - Promote to "1st C" division - Build a second rugby field - Player recruitment campaign - Infrastructure improvements
