Melvin Ingram is a linebacker for the L.A. Chargers in the National Football League. Born in Hamlet, North Carolina, Ingram attended Richmond County High School, later committing to play football at the University of South Carolina. Ingram’s collegiate career began as a freshman earning significant playing time, and ended as a team captain his senior year, receiving First Team All-American honors. Selected by the San Diego Chargers with the 18th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Ingram suited up for all sixteen games of his rookie year. In 2015, Ingram became the first Chargers’ player to tally double-digit sacks (10.5) since 2011. Outside of football, Ingram is an aspiring rapper, releasing a full-length mixtape in 2015. Ingram also established the nonprofit foundation “Mission Possible”, which provides low income children educational resources they need. In September of 2016, Ingram signed with Roc Nation Sports.
