 Brian Orakpo is an eight-year NFL veteran and linebacker for the Tennessee Titans. Brian began his career with the Washington Redskins after being drafted 13th overall in the 2009 NFL draft. Originally from Houston, Texas, Brian played collegiality at the University of Texas from 2004 to 2008, earning the titles Defensive Freshman of the year and First Team Freshman All-American his rst year. Among his many collegiate accolades, Brian counts the 2008 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Award and the 2008 Lombardi Award, and was a unanimous All-American the same year. Brian was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the rst round of the 2009 NFL draft, tenth overall. During his rookie year, Brian tied a Redskins record with 4 sacks in a game against the Oakland Raiders and was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for December 13, 2009. He was selected to the 2009 Pro Bowl, one of only 6 rookies to do so, and became the rst Redskins rookie to make the Pro Bowl since 1978. In 2010, Brian returned to the Pro Bowl and in Week 4 of the 2011 season was once again named NFC Defensive Player of the Week. Brian was selected to the Pro Bowl once again in 2014. After six seasons with the Washington Redskins, Brian was signed to a four-year contract with the Tennessee Titans where he was named a defensive captain. During the 2016 season Brian recorded a team-high 10.5 sacks and was awarded to his 4th Pro Bowl. Off the field, Brian had dedicated his time and effort to fundraising for leukemia and lymphoma charities. In 2017, Brian will launch the Brian Orakpo Foundation, a non-pro t organization dedicated to improving the lives of undeserved children in Austin and Nashville.
