Markus Golden was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. A stand out at the University of Missouri, Markus entered his senior season as one of the premier pass rushers in the nation. His nal season with Mizzou, Markus nished with 78 tackles, 10 sacks and ranked top- ve in the SEC in sacks and tackles for loss. He capped o a stellar career at Mizzou being named MVP of the 2015 Citrus Bowl. A St. Louis native, Markus was a stand-out on both sides of the ball in high school, setting records at Afton High School as both a linebacker and a running back. In 2015, Markus played 15 games his rst season with the Arizona Cardinals, with six starts as a rookie, recording 31 tackles 4 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Continuing to make an explosive impact to Cardinals defense in 2016, Markus recorded 12.5 sacks – leading the Cardinals in sacks, above veteran leaders Chandler Jones and Calais Campbell and nishing tied for third in the league. Golden also nished the 2016 season with 51 tackles, 1 pass defended and 4 forced fumbles. Of the eld, Markus is committed to giving back to his community. Markus began his annual youth football summer camp in 2016. Free to the public and open to kids grades K-12, Markus works with volunteers to focus on fundamentals and inspiring underprivileged kids from his home town.
