Over his distinguished 13 seasons in the NBA and his heralded collegiate career at Duke University, Shane established himself as a scholar athlete, All- American, leader, and both NCAA and NBA champion. In 2010, he added philanthropist to that list, when he and Heidi established the Battier Take Charge Foundation. Through fundraising and speaking opportunities, partnering with community leaders in Miami, Houston and Detroit, and taking an active mentoring role with the selected Take Charge Scholars, Shane has found countless ways to continue being a sportsman and teammate, even though his playing days are behind him. In his time outside of the office, Shane can be found playing with his kids, working on his golf game, and embracing worldwide cultures and adventures – recently climbing Machu Picchu.
